TAGWIREI’S $5.5 MILLION “DONATION” EXPOSES ZANU PF’S EMPTY PROMISES
In another sad story for Zimbabweans, they have learned that Tagwirei, a man responsible for much of their suffering, has allegedly given $5.5 million to the corrupt Zanu PF party. This money is supposed to help improve the lives of people hit hard by the pandemic. But many believe that none of this money will actually go to the people who need it.
It is wrong for Zanu PF and Tagwirei to say that the pandemic is the main reason for the suffering of Zimbabweans. The truth is that the problems started long before the pandemic. Zanu PF’s greed and poor management, along with their close ties to China, have caused a lot of harm. These ties have protected Zanu PF from international sanctions that might have forced them to make political reforms. Zanu PF wants people to think that everything was fine before the pandemic and that the pandemic is to blame for the current problems. This is not true. Zimbabweans have been suffering under Zanu PF’s rule for decades. The pandemic just made things a bit worse.
It is ironic because Zanu PF often blames sanctions for Zimbabwe’s problems. This time, they cannot use that excuse. Zanu PF is a party full of excuses and constant failures. Despite their many failures, they stay in power by breaking the law and mistreating the people.
Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube once talked about a budget surplus. But even if this surplus was real, it was too small to make a real difference. So, what can $5.5 million do for a population of about 15 million people who are struggling to get enough food and live below the poverty line? Everyone remembers what happened to the aid meant for people in Manicaland after Cyclone Idai. Much of it did not reach those in need.
What Zimbabwe needs are political reforms supported by strong constitutionalism. These reforms would help Zimbabwe become a democratic society. In a true democracy, the military and police would not serve the interests of Zanu PF and people like Tagwirei. They would serve the people of Zimbabwe.
Zanu PF and Tagwirei’s actions show their true colors. They pretend to care about the people, but their actions say otherwise. They are trying to use the $5.5 million to make it look like they are helping. But many Zimbabweans know better. They know that real help will only come from real political change.
In conclusion, Tagwirei’s $5.5 million “donation” is not going to change the lives of suffering Zimbabweans. It is just another empty promise from a corrupt system. Zimbabwe needs true political reforms to ensure a better future for its people. Until then, the suffering will continue, and the promises will remain unfulfilled.
