ZANU PF FAILS TO CONTROL ZIMBABWEANS THROUGH FEAR

0

Violence, used by ZANU PF to force Zimbabweans to vote for them since the early 2000s, has failed. ZANU PF’s other tricks, like manipulating the law, taking over the state, resisting local government power, merging the branches of government, and giving food only to their supporters, have also failed. The opposition has shown great strength, beating all of ZANU PF’s attempts to turn Zimbabwe into a one-party state.

Many opposition officials have defected to ZANU PF, but these attempts to take over urban services will fail. The political apathy that ZANU PF relied on is gone, leading to their desperate actions. ZANU PF, under Mnangagwa, wrongly thinks that getting opposition members to defect will make many opposition supporters follow. But ZANU PF will be disappointed. Those who defect are just career politicians who betray the struggle against tyranny. They do not serve the people. The defections only show their betrayal.

People in their communities, who suffered from ZANU PF’s tactics like giving food only to their supporters, will not follow the defectors. Communities are still healing from these divisive actions. Joining ZANU PF, just because the defectors love money or power, shows their true colors. The people will not suddenly follow them.

ZANU PF thinks Zimbabweans are not smart and that taking over local government services like water supply and garbage collection will lead to a big win in the 2023 elections. But Zimbabweans know about the economic mismanagement and corruption by ZANU PF. People see ZANU PF’s wealth flaunted in their faces. For example, Chiwenga’s mansion worth millions of dollars, while he runs a broken health system, shows ZANU PF’s vain attempts to take over local government.

A president who allows foreign exploitation of natural resources without caring about the people is an example of ZANU PF’s insincerity. The same president who gives $20,000 to build a school in a foreign country while neglecting local schools shows ZANU PF’s lack of empathy. Zimbabweans know this, and that is why they support the opposition. ZANU PF’s attempts to capture urban councils are futile.

Laws targeting the opposition, like age limits and so-called patriot bills, are more ZANU PF plans destined to fail. There is nothing patriotic about ZANU PF. A president who hires a private jet while people die in hospitals shows ZANU PF’s unpatriotic nature. A president with a stake in a company that displaces people for profit is not patriotic. A first family awarding itself a multi-million-dollar tender is not patriotic. ZANU PF cannot legitimately bar the opposition from winning elections. ZANU PF is the most unpatriotic group in politics.

In conclusion, all of ZANU PF’s attempts to derail the opposition have failed against the opposition’s strong resilience and public support. The public is no longer apathetic, leading to ZANU PF’s desperate actions. The opposition remains the people’s choice and the guardian of popular will and legitimacy. ZANU PF will continue to be deprived of control.
