POLICE PREDICT ELECTION RIOTS IN ZIMBABWE

In Zimbabwe, wonders never cease. The country, often called a banana republic, is paralyzed due to the political problems caused by ZANU-PF. This political party is seen as a failing and criminal group. They are described as terrorists, tyrants, and illegitimate rulers who care only about enriching themselves. They are accused of neglecting the people’s welfare and failing to provide basic services. Many say they are the worst thing to ever happen to Zimbabwe.

Now, there is news that the hungry, poor, and inflation-hit police force is being trained to handle election riots. This idea is strange because the police force itself is suffering. How can they predict that there will be riots during elections? They are not prophets who can see the future. One has to wonder what happened to the peace-loving Zimbabweans. Did they all leave for Europe and the United States?

For four decades, the people of Zimbabwe have been suffering. They are impoverished, food insecure, and unemployed. Their welfare has been ignored, and they face a cycle of tragedy. The rulers, described as pests and parasites, are unresponsive to their needs. This neglect has led to a lack of basic services like healthcare, clean water, and education. How could these people, who would be shot by the equally poor and partisan military, suddenly become so violent to riot over elections?

Additionally, the police, considered the worst in the world, are setting up an internal committee to investigate predicted poll-based crimes. This seems pointless because the police did not show any ability to handle such crimes during the primary elections of ZANU-PF. The primary elections were full of problems, but nothing was done about it. In the depressing history of Zimbabwe, those who commit poll-based crimes often go unpunished.

In this context, the idea of election riots seems misleading. The people are too hungry and poor to start riots. They are too oppressed and terrorized to fight back. The police, who are also suffering, are not in a position to handle such riots even if they did happen.

Zimbabwe’s problems are deep and complex. The ruling party, ZANU-PF, is seen as the root of these problems. They are accused of many wrongdoings, from neglecting the people’s needs to looting the country’s resources. The police force, which should protect the people, is instead focused on predicting impossible riots.

The country’s situation is dire. The people need basic services like healthcare, clean water, and education. They need a government that cares about their welfare. Instead, they have a ruling party that enriches itself and a police force that is more interested in handling imaginary riots than in solving real problems.

This situation in Zimbabwe shows the tragic state of the country. The people are suffering, and the government is not helping. The idea of election riots is just one more problem in a long list of issues. Zimbabwe needs real solutions, not predictions of impossible events. The police and the government should focus on providing the basic services that the people need and on improving the overall situation in the country. Only then can there be hope for a better future for Zimbabwe.
